Training course "Oncopsychology"

The NGO "Genofond of the Nation" conducted a training course on oncopsychology, dedicated to psychological support for people who have encountered oncological diseases, as well as support for their families. Special attention was paid to work with military personnel, veterans and civilians, for whom the consequences of war can be accompanied by severe somatic diseases and complex psychological experiences.

During the course, participants were introduced to modern approaches of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and responsibility therapy (ACT) and positive psychotherapy in working with cancer patients. A separate block was devoted to palliative psychological support, support for family members, work with loss of health, premature grief and the formation of psychological resilience in conditions of serious illness. The course combined theoretical training with practical tools that can be used by mental health specialists in clinical practice.
